What Sarban Mail does with your mail, in plain words.
Your mail is stored on your own computer and is not sent to us. Sarban LLC operates no server that receives, stores or processes your messages. We cannot read your mail, because we never have it.
Most privacy policies explain what a company does with your data. This one mostly explains that there is no company in the middle.
Sarban Mail connects from your computer directly to your mail provider — Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, or whichever host you use — in the same way any other mail application does. Messages are downloaded and kept in a database in your own home folder.
Nothing is copied to a server belonging to us. There is no account to create with Sarban, no cloud storage, and no synchronisation service.
Four things, and no others:
When you connect a Gmail account, Sarban Mail opens Google's own sign-in page in your browser. You sign in to Google, not to us. We never see your Google password.
Google gives the application a token, which is stored in your operating system's own credential store, the same place your other applications keep their passwords. The token is not written to our database, to a configuration file, or to any log.
Sarban Mail requests one permission: access to your Gmail mailbox, which is what a mail application needs in order to be a mail application. Your Gmail data is used only to show you your mail on your own device. It is not transferred to anyone, not used to train any model, and not used for advertising. You can withdraw the permission at any time from your Google Account permissions page, without needing anything from us.
Sarban Mail's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Sarban Mail can pull details out of a message — an amount, a date, a reference number — so that you can search for them later. This happens on your own computer. Nothing is sent anywhere to do it.
If you choose to install a language model of your own, it also runs on your computer, and Sarban Mail talks to it over your machine's internal connection only. That is your choice to make and your choice to undo.
Nothing. We have no server that could collect it. If that changes — if a future version checks for updates, for example — it will be named on this page, listed inside the application, and possible to switch off.
Delete the application and its data folder and nothing of yours remains anywhere. There is no account to close and nobody to ask.
Sarban Mail is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them — or, for that matter, from anyone.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Because the application holds no data of ours, a change here will be about what the application does, not about what we do with what we have.
